Human Resource - Professional Association of Greater Emporia (HR-PAGE) is proud to provide guidance, education, and camaraderie to those within our profession and our area.   The Emporia area features a wide range of employers from the manufacturing community, business community, community services, and the educational sectors.  We are proud that our organization is a valuable association for the Human Resources Professionals in the Emporia area.

Letter From Our President:

In the 20 years I have worked as a Human Resources professional I believe that 2009 had more legislation proposed that affected Human Resources than I have seen in any previous single year.  I think 2010 will be an equally active year for Human Resources as Congress moves forward.  As we implement changes and develop best practices within our individual organizations, a membership in HR-PAGE is an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences with others facing the same challenges.

The 2010 Board of Directors of HR-PAGE within the Emporia Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) will commit to working with the Society for Human Resource Management, other HR chapters in the State of Kansas and other non-HR groups to provide the information needed to make good business decisions to manage the proposed changes.  SHRM gives us the ability to form a greater voice to be heard by our congressional constituents on legislation as it is being created.

The programs given at the HR-PAGE meetings for 2010 will target a wide range of topics regarding all aspects of employment.  In addition, legislative updates on federal and state levels will be given on a regular basis.  Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM in the Emporia State University Memorial Union (unless otherwise noted on the Upcoming Coming Events tab).

As a member of HR-PAGE and/or SHRM, you will have access to the “best of class” human resource practices and procedures.  You will have the opportunity to interact with leaders in Emporia, the State of Kansas and across the United States.  A SHRM membership allows you access to the largest HR Information Center in the world.

I would encourage every organization in Emporia who has employees to consider a membership to HR-PAGE.  The networking alone will be invaluable to you and your organization.  If you would like to find out more about us I would encourage you to attend one of our monthly meetings just to see what we are all about.  Please use the Contact Us tab for more information.

As 2010 HR-PAGE Chapter President, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, I look forward to serving our members and community to make HR-PAGE your most valuable resource for expertise.

Sincerely,

Kathy Orear

H.R. PAGE President
